MEGAN'S STORY
Megan Chavis is an accomplished copywriter, content creator, and project leader. Her 15 years of professional experience encompass television news, luxury retail, beauty, healthcare, and tech.
Megan’s career started in a small Texas newsroom where she reported, anchored, and produced local TV newscasts and wrote for the TV station’s website. She then made a leap to Neiman Marcus as a copywriter and copy manager for the luxury brand’s several websites. After that she led concept development, creative strategy, and copywriting in the global marketing division at direct-sales beauty brand Mary Kay. After a short stint as a writer and manager of creative at the nation’s top compounding pharmacy, Megan is back in the beauty business leading positioning and content strategy for new product launches.
Quick thinking and a talent for on-the-fly editing has made Megan an agile content writer and an asset to her team. She thrives on translating the complex into the compelling, no matter the subject, and enjoys the challenge of crafting something that will delight, inspire, or give hope.
Some of Megan’s favorite aspects of her past and current work are product and shade naming, headline writing, and concept development. She finds inspiration in music (country duo Sugarland is a deep well of poetry) and through devouring the Instagram stories and blog posts of her favorite influencers.
Megan lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, Levi, their two daughters, and two rescue pups. When she’s not working, Megan indulges in all things Bravo, sings, plays golf, and eats Tex-Mex with her family. She is a firm believer in the Oxford comma.
